Dissemination of
information and thus increasing the participation of common man in governance is not only
required as per government policy of increasing transparency and public participation but
also a legal obligation on part of the government under the Right to Information Act. Information Technology
provides a platform to share information, experiences, thoughts and knowledge, which is
first step towards transparency and accountability in governance. The official website of
Poonch District is a creditable step in this direction. It remain our endeavour
to interact closely with the common man and this website serves as a medium through which
we invite suggestions from all stakeholders with a view to make the administration more
responsive, efficient.
National Informatics Centre, Poonch District has done a commended job in launching the website which highlights information regarding various facts of the district, statistical data, administrative setup and other relevant information for the benefit of general public.
